The donation announcement was made earlier this morning to Brian Gulish, of The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, while he was appearing in a live radio interview on Newsradio 1020 KDKA with Larry Richert and Kevin Battle.
Gulish indicated that the $10,000 cash donation will provide 50,000 meals. The timing of the donation was welcomed, as the need for meals in our area has rapidly increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“My mother is very pleased to know that this donation will provide immediate food to those in most need of meals at this time”, said Darryl Sammartino, Executive Director for the Bruno and Carol Sammartino Foundation, “This is exactly the type of support that would make my late father very proud”.
